206 76th Street’s walls, which originally were a mixture of block and wood framing, have all been replaced by fully concrete block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

206 76th Street’s elevation above sea level is one of the highest on the island for heritage homes at 6′ 0″ above sea level. All electrical incoming services, distribution wiring and fixtures were replaced as part of the renovations. Electrical circuits are protected by GFCIs  and in most cases are elevated a further 18″ above the floor level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All walls are finished either in a cementitious texture parging or are fully ceramic tile (washrooms and showers) to reduce the possibility and extent of flood damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new parging texture was selected to fully match the original heritage home wall texture finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Floors and baseboards in all rooms are porcelain tile for water resistance and the post and beam columns from floor to roof beams are pressure treated to resist any full water immersion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
